Dining Area, Where Is My Focal Point?
I can hear what you are thinking…. and no, your dining table is not the focal point of your dining area, unless it is the only item there.
The focal point in the dining room works a bit differently from the rest of the other rooms. When you walk into the dining room, your dining table will be the centrepiece of the room.
Here are a couple of things to note that can have an impact on the focal point of your dining room:
- Is the dining room in a separate room or does it form part of an open plan area?
- Do you have pendant lights above the dining table?
- What is the first thing you see when you walk into the room (except for the dining table), is it a window, wall, pendant lights, etc?
The video below explains the focal points in your dining room very well. (Please ensure that your sound is on.)
